  Is There a HELL ??

  according to revelation 20:10 the devil will be tormented day and night forever and ever along with the "false prophet".

  i asked several jw's about this and the reply was "we don't take it like that" or "it doesn't literally mean that".

  wether or not there is a hell it sure seams they are missing or ignoring something.

  Arrest in Samantha Runnion case

  an arrest was made in the murder of this little girl.

  the man arrested was charged with child molestation in 2000, but never convicted.

  Yes...I saw it break on this morning's news. The guy who discovered the body and telephoned 911 was soooo freaked out...very jarring for anyone to hear. I too am waiting for the 6pm newsconference.

  they extol higher education, then turn right around and insult education by their farms archeology site sponsored by byu.

  just how this religion ever got by as far as they did is beyond me.

  I believe that the BOM is nothing but a work of fiction.

  Ok, maybe, but then again numerous people on this board agree the the Bible too is a work of fiction, so I guess it's in good company.

  Finally, just where are those gold plates?

  Could they be in the same place as the original scrolls from the Books of the Bible?

  How many here work for yourselves?

  some of you may have read some of my earlier posts about my job issues, well i followed the advice that some of you contributed and i'm on my way to starting my own business.

  i have a fairly good strategy that i will attempt to follow but i'm back again for more advice.. my first goal is to obtain a business license and establish a business name.

  tomorrow i'm going to spend a few hours at the library and try to read up a bit on the different ways to proceed with a small business.

  Why is Hope a good quality?

  looks like someone on this forum hates this word hope.

  hope is a great thing to have for all christain.. it is one of the best things a true christain can have.. the bible gives us alot of hope.. lets use it in our everyday lives.

  we have bible understanding threw research do we not?

  No wonder that many today assume that the Bible mandates rigid restrictions against open intellectual inquiry. But does it really? Does the Bible encourage restraints on freedom of thought?

  No, but from what most ex-jw's say, it sure sounds like the Watchtower does!

  Did John Denver hate the Witnesses?

  i remember hearing stories as a kid that john denver would ask all the witnesses present at his concerts to stand.

  and, then after they stood, he would play the national anthem.

  any truth to this?

  The reason he did that was because when Johnny Carson was still running the Tonight Show 50% or more of his staff were JWs

  I find that very hard to believe that 50% of his staff were JW's for many reasons. That show works until about 8 or 9 at night. Could that many JW's be missing at their Tues/Thurs mtgs?

  Well said Susan, well said!. You sound like the Mormans I know - intelligent, articulate, very normal and "cool"....not the half-crazed, in-your-face recent poster who went by the name QUANTUM.
